Ice Galaxy 3

Midsummer marks the longest day of the year. Where I live in Norway, the sun will set around midnight and rise again in four hours later. Further north, the sun never sets during this time.

Celtic folklore states that this is one of three nights a year when the veil between the worlds were at its thinnest. To fend off evil spirits, the people light bonfires that burn all night.

All of the photographs in this series are taken close to midnight around midsummer’s eve. The veil is thin and if you listen closely, you’ll hear singing calling you into the fog. Whether you choose to go, is entirely up to you…
